What Do You Get When You Bend a Band?

Band samplers are iconic in cross stitch history and still popular subjects for today's patterns and I admit I certainly love them as much as the next stitcher. But I've wondered what would the effect be if the standard band took a new shape? Might it give the image some new interest?

I began playing with the next design and 'bent' the bands to make what is essentially a log cabin quilt pattern. I've wanted to design a series of seasonal patterns that could be done individually or grouped together and so I'm happy to introduce the first in the series, "Log Cabin - Autumn".

I'll post specific info on size and colors soon.

Here is a photo of the stitched "Poppies".

  2. Kathy, I love your "Bend the Band" idea! I will definitely be looking into buying Autumn and look forward to the other seasons as well. I love almost anything that is 4 seasons!

    Keep up the great work!

  3. Thanks heike and Debby for the encouraging words :)

I'm glad you like the patterns. I decided to start with Autumn since I'll be participating in the Counted Wishes Festival in September and hope to have at least Autumn and Winter Log Cabin designs done for them.
