Coffee Break on Gracewood

Today's post isn't about cross stitch, it is about what happens on Gracewood when I take a break :)

I found an older bag of some kamut in the back of the cupboard and since its age was unknown we put it out on the bench in our wildlife/bird feeding area off the side porch. We had no idea if either bird or beast would like it but while we were at the table having coffee we looked up to see this doe and her yearling approach it with some wonder. After the first sniff they decided they did indeed like it.

This pair comes at least two times a day and have since the yearling had spots. You can see they are beginning to lose their heavy winter coats. I hope you'll enjoy this brief break from stitching.

  1. Deer are an amazing animal unless they are targeting your car. Good for you feeding the furry friends.

  2. They are indeed, Denise. Our area has the largest population of white tail deer in the country, so having good peripheral vision while driving is a must! lol
